The beautiful summer-like weather continues on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Lots of Incline Village real estate agents were out showing property and writing offers. This was reflected by 7 more properties going into escrow during the past week. Toss in 7 new listings, 10 price changes and 11 close escrows to round out the action on the Incline Village MLS.

Lower-priced properties dominated the action last week on the Incline Village real estate scene. All 7 of the places getting accepted offers had asking prices at or below $825,000. We’ve seen a pretty broad range of activity the past several weeks, so this is just an anomaly. There is no reason to believe that sales of moderate to luxury priced Incline Village real estate will be getting neglected. Since the vast majority of purchases in our market are discretionary the price action is pretty random from week to week.
It looks like nice weather for the week ahead with a slight chance of light rain or snow on Friday. The Mt. Rose Ski Area had a symbolic opening this past weekend. The Wizard chair lift was spinning, servicing a beginner run near the base of the mountain. Nighttime temperatures have been cold enough to allow for snow making. But it will take the usual 3 to 4 feet of snow pack to make for a good base and get most of the runs open.
If you plan to ski, snowboard or partake of any winter sports activities now is a great time to get into daily stretching exercises. One of Don’s favorite ways to get ready for ski season is to wear 5 pound ankle weights for a couple of hours each day. You can also wear your ski boots around the house but only if you are walking on carpet. They are treacherous on tile floors and can really beat up the hardwood.
