Incline Village Real Estate - Activities Information
WINERIES
On the drive to Lake Tahoe, if you take Hwy 50 from the Sacramento area you will pass by a number of excellent wineries in the Sierra foothills. One area with several good places to have a picnic and taste some wine is located off the Schnell School Road Exit just east of Placerville.
Another area with over 30 different wineries (many of them excellent) is near Plymouth, CA in the vicinity of the junction of Hwy 49 and Hwy 16. Just east of this junction you will find a high concentration of wineries that produce very nice red wines due to the warm climate. Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Primitivo and other varieties of grapes are grown and turned into elegant wines in smaller boutique wineries.
Please don't drink and drive, choose a designated driver or for a deluxe experience hire a limo. You may even want to spend a night at one of the delightful Bed and Breakfasts located in the foothills on your way to or from Lake Tahoe.
Here are a couple of exceptionally good wineries that are generally open Friday through Sunday. Please visit their web sites for specific hours of operation and more detailed information.
