Incline Village & Crystal Bay Real Estate Marketing Update | December 17, 2025
If you’ve spent any time living or working around Lake Tahoe, you’ve probably experienced a weather inversion - even if you didn’t know what to call it. From a local’s perspective, it’s one of those quirks of mountain living that surprises new homeowners all the time. On inversion days, the basin can feel cold, gray, and a little socked in, while just a short drive up the mountain puts you into sunshine and noticeably warmer temperatures. That’s because cold, heavy air settles into the Tahoe Basin and gets trapped there, with warmer air sitting above it like a lid.
Around Tahoe, inversions typically show up from late fall through winter, and sometimes linger into early spring. They can last a few days or, in stronger weather patterns, a couple of weeks. Locals learn to plan as afternoons typically push the soft cloud cover capping only the lake with sunny afternoons on land. It’s part of Tahoe living and it didn’t stop the Jingle Mingle crowd from enjoying one of our favorite yearly festive events, Jingle & Mingle. It was in full swing with the sunshine. Inside Incline and Tahoe Gifting Co. hosted great day with a live DJ, setting the mood for a lively holiday hangout rather than a typical shopping stop. Guests sampled creative, bite-sized appetizers from Paxton’s Restaurant, which added a delicious, elevated touch to the afternoon, while Tahoe Gifting Co. brought out everyone’s creative side with ornament making led by Good Livin’ Ceramics; kids and adults alike crafted a personalized ornament to take home. To top it off, Minden Mill Distilling poured spirits tastings that warmed things up. It was the kind of event that perfectly captured Incline Village and Crystal Bay during the holiday shopping season.
The home market is reflecting signs of typical behavior, with a slight drop in number of year to date sold properties. With the holiday season upon us, Buyers and Sellers are taking time to enjoy family, friends, and button up their shopping. If you are in the market to buy a home, Incline Village and Crystal Bay have plenty of options. Two new listings this week reveal a quaint cabin style home at 685 Bridger Court that offers a wealth of natural sunlight. A complete remodel provides clean lines and hardwood floors throughout. 823 Ellen Court is another complete remodel offering a blend of modern luxury with timeless Tahoe warmth with sweeping views of Lake Tahoe and the forest. You can explore these homes with Inside Incline.
